Unifyl is built local-first. The short version: we do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any of your data. Ever.
Unifyl collects no personal information, no usage analytics, no crash reports, and no telemetry of any kind. There is no account system. The app contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
All AI features (semantic search, auto-classification, smart tagging, AI rename) run entirely on your Mac using Core ML and the Apple Neural Engine. Your files, file names, and search queries never leave your device.
The optional Statistics feature (Tools ▸ Statistics) counts your own activity — bytes copied, files renamed, and similar totals — and stores those numbers only on your Mac. They are never uploaded anywhere, and you can reset or disable them at any time in Settings.
Unifyl only makes network connections that you explicitly initiate: file transfers to servers you configure (FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, S3-compatible storage, and other providers) and, in the Direct-download edition, checking for app updates. Credentials for your servers are stored in the macOS Keychain on your device.
Purchases in the Mac App Store edition are processed by Apple. Unifyl receives only the App Store's purchase entitlement — no payment or identity information. Purchases of the Direct edition are processed by our merchant of record (Lemon Squeezy), whose handling of payment data is described in their own privacy policy.
If this policy ever changes, the update will be posted at this address with a new "Last updated" date.
